This post shall be titled “Japan’s Coin Lockers are Awesome”, because they are (if you manage to find an empty one that is also big enough at your train station to use)!
We checked out of the hotel in the morning but wouldn’t be heading off to the skiing part of our trip until much later that night, and we certainly weren’t going to carry everything with us the whole time. Not to worry! Shinjuku Station (新宿駅)’s awesome coin lockers to the rescue.

Rows of coin lockers at Shinjuku Station; there are more in other corners of the station

I have to use the largest one available, one of the 800 yen ones, for my suitcase

I could pay for and link my PASMO to my coin locker using this control panel
